Placing ads is one job. Selling them is another.
Ad Inserter puts the ad code you give it where you want it on a WordPress page. Pyrobid is the sale itself: an advertise page where businesses book your space, pay you and upload their own ads, then watch them run. Keep the plugin that places your ads, and give the space a way to sell itself.
It provides many advanced options to insert opt-in forms, header scripts, Javascript, CSS, HTML, PHP, analytics, tracking or advert code anywhere on the page. From its WordPress.org listing, checked 7 October 2026. Inserting is the job, and a Pyrobid slot is the kind of code it inserts. What the listing does not describe is the sale: a page where a business books the space, a payment, an account for the buyer. That is the part Pyrobid adds.
What Ad Inserter does
Ad Inserter is a WordPress plugin that inserts code: AdSense, Ad Manager and other network tags, your own banners, scripts and HTML, before or after posts, between paragraphs, in widgets and in the header and footer, with rules for where each block shows.
Pro licences run from €20 for two sites to €100 for a hundred, each with a year of updates. Depending on the licence, Pro adds features such as impression and click limits, click fraud protection, and PDF and public web reports to share with a client.
With Ad Inserter alone, a direct sale happens outside the plugin: you agree the deal, take the payment and collect the banner, then paste it in.
What Pyrobid does
Pyrobid is where the sale happens. A business finds your advertise page, signs up, adds funds and builds its own campaign: the banner, the audience, the budget and a bid at or above your floor price. You approve the artwork and it runs, and they watch impressions, clicks and spend on their own dashboard.
The money goes to your own Stripe account, or you take it any way you like and issue a voucher for it. Pyrobid takes no share.
Your newsletter sells on the same page, and the slots work on any site, with a free WordPress plugin to place them.
What placement cannot do on its own
Code in the right place is half an ad business. These are the other half.
A place to book
Your advertise page lists your slots and your newsletter sends, in your name and colours. A business books there at eleven at night without writing to you.
A way to pay you
Card payments to your own Stripe account, or vouchers for a bank transfer, an invoice or anything else. The balance funds their campaigns, so you are paid before an ad runs.
Numbers the buyer sees
Each advertiser gets a live dashboard: impressions, clicks, CTR, spend and conversions. No report to export, and no link to send.
Where Pyrobid fits
Keep Ad Inserter for what it places. Pyrobid sells the space.
Your network underneath
Put the ad code you run today in a slot's fallback and it fills the views nobody has booked, apart from one in ten that shows your Advertise Here card by default. You can switch that off.
Your newsletter too
Sponsors book a send, upload their banner and pay on the same advertise page. The snippet goes into any email tool. How it works.
Your rates, your rules
You set the floor on every slot and a price on every send, and you approve every ad before it runs.
Any site
WordPress with our free plugin, or Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and plain HTML with one piece of code.
Billed on ads that were seen
Advertisers pay for viewable impressions, and bots and crawlers are filtered before anything counts toward a report or a bill.
Your brand, not ours
Your advertise page and portal carry your name, logo and colours, at yourbrand.pyrobid.com, or on your own domain with Pro.
What your advertisers see
Your brand, on your own domain. They sign up, fund an account and build a campaign in five steps. You approve the artwork before anything runs.

Read it as two jobs rather than two rivals. Ad Inserter decides where code goes. Pyrobid is the sale that puts a paid ad in that code.
Your network keeps what you do not sell
Every ad request runs down a chain. Your direct deals get first refusal at your price. Anything unsold falls through to what you run today.
Choose Pyrobid if
- ›You want businesses to book and pay for your space without an email thread
- ›You want advertisers to see their own results without you exporting a report
- ›You sell a newsletter, or plan to
- ›Your sites are not all on WordPress
Common questions
Can I keep Ad Inserter?
Yes. Pyrobid asks you to remove nothing. Ad Inserter inserts JavaScript, HTML and advert code, in its own words, and a Pyrobid slot is HTML and JavaScript, so you can paste a slot's code into an Ad Inserter block the way you paste any ad code. Or place it with our free plugin.
Is Pyrobid a WordPress plugin?
Pyrobid is a hosted ad sales platform with a free WordPress plugin on WordPress.org. The plugin places your slots and links to your advertise page. Your portal, payments and reports run on Pyrobid.
Ad Inserter is free. Why pay for Pyrobid?
Because they do different jobs. Ad Inserter decides where code goes. Pyrobid is the sale: the advertise page, the payments, the advertiser accounts, the reports and your newsletter, for $29.99 a month with no share of what advertisers pay you.
Will two ad plugins slow my site?
The Pyrobid plugin loads your portal's ad script asynchronously, and only on pages that show a slot, so your content does not wait for it.
Where do advertisers come from?
From your site and your field: the advertise link in your menu or footer, the Advertise Here card in slots nobody has booked, and the businesses you already know, who now have somewhere to book. Pyrobid does not supply advertisers or promise what you will earn.
Can I see it before I sign up?
Yes. Install the free plugin and press See your advertise page to see the page your site would get. The live demo shows the advertiser side with real data, and after that there are 14 days free.
Keep your placements. Add the sale.
