Newsletter sponsorships
Sell the sponsor spot in every send
Add your newsletter as a zone, set your sends and a price for each, and paste its snippet into your email. Sponsors book a send, upload their banner and pay in your branded portal. You approve it, and it runs in that email.
A sponsor wants Tuesday's issue. The deal takes five emails.Rates, dates, an invoice, then chasing the banner the night before. Every step waits on you, and a sponsor who has to wait books somewhere else.
How a booking works
The same branded portal your advertisers already use for your website, with one sponsor per send.
Set it up once
Your newsletter sits in your portal beside your web slots.
A zone like any other
Add it in Create Zone at 300x250 or 600x200. Set up to four sends a day, the days it goes out and your price for each.
One snippet in your template
Pick your email tool and paste its snippet. Mailchimp, Kit, Brevo, beehiiv, Klaviyo and ActiveCampaign keep it in the template for good. Other tools take a fresh one each issue, emailed to you the evening before.
You approve every sponsor
Paid bookings wait in Ad Approval beside your web ads. Decline one and the money goes back to the sponsor's balance. Or let paid bookings straight in.
For your sponsors
No rate card to ask for and no invoice to wait on.
They book it themselves
Sponsors pick one or more sends, upload one banner and pay, from their balance or by card through your own Stripe account.
Clicks you can both trust
Reader clicks are counted with link scanners, bots and repeat clicks left out. The sponsor sees the same count you do.
Empty sends sell the next one
A send nobody booked shows your Advertise Here card, your own banner, or nothing. The card takes readers to your booking page.
What gets counted, and what does not
Every ad is one banner inside a link, because an email cannot run scripts once it is sent. Opens are not counted: Apple Mail loads pictures as the email arrives and Gmail caches them, so an open count would be a guess. Sponsors pay a flat price per send. What they get back is the clicks their link earned, and the subscriber count and open rate you state on your booking page.
What other sponsorship tools keep
Fees as published by beehiiv and Passionfroot, read 3 October 2026, before card fees. Card payments in your portal run through your own Stripe account, at Stripe's rates.
Common questions
Which email tools does it work with?
Any that lets you paste HTML into an email. Mailchimp, Kit, Brevo, beehiiv, Klaviyo and ActiveCampaign keep the snippet in your template for good. Others, like MailerLite and Constant Contact, take a fresh one each issue. Substack is the exception: its editor does not take pasted HTML.
Can one email carry more than one sponsor?
Each spot takes one sponsor per send, so nobody shares it. For a second sponsor in the same email, add a second spot as its own zone.
What size is the ad?
You choose when you add the zone: 300x250, the usual newsletter size and one most advertisers already have, or 600x200 across the width of the email.
What if I do not approve a booking in time?
It is declined at its send and the sponsor's money goes back to their balance, without you doing anything.
What if a send goes out without the ad?
You get an email half an hour after the send, in time to fix one running late. If the ad never loads, the sponsor is not charged: a day later the price goes back to their balance.
Does it cost extra?
No. It is part of every plan, from $29.99 a month, and we take no share of what sponsors pay you.
