Different jobs, one per site
Ezoic fills your ad slots with programmatic demand. Pyrobid sells those slots to advertisers who come to you directly. Ezoic's policy asks to be the only ad code on your site, so on any one site it is one or the other, and only one of them has a traffic minimum you have to clear before you are allowed in.
Ezoic requires a minimum audience of 250,000 monthly users. That is their wording, on their Incubator page, checked 16 September 2026. Below the line there is the Incubator, where they say twenty sites or apps are selected each month, you apply once, and your application stays in the queue until somebody decides. If you are under the threshold and want to start selling this week, that is the gap this page is about.
What Ezoic does
Ezoic is a monetisation platform. It puts your inventory into a unified auction where demand partners bid against each other, tunes floors per placement, tests layouts, and reports on what a visitor is worth rather than what an impression is worth.
The advertisers are whoever the exchanges bring. You never meet them, you do not set their price, and none of them become yours.
What Pyrobid does
Pyrobid is a self-serve ad sales desk on your own domain. A brand that already wants to reach your readers registers, funds an account, sets targeting, uploads a banner and bids for your slots. You set the floor.
Nobody takes a cut of that. What an advertiser pays you for space on your own site is yours.
Programmatic fills a page for you. Direct is the part you sell yourself. Ezoic's policy keeps the two on separate sites, so the choice is per site.
What testing your layout will never give you
Ezoic optimises what a network already pays you. It does not put a buyer in front of you.
Your price, and all of it
Ezoic takes a share for arranging the demand. On your own portal you publish a floor, the advertiser bids at or above it, and the whole amount is yours.
A buyer with a name
A direct advertiser renews, refers and grows. Optimised anonymous demand does none of that, and it can be re-rated without a conversation.
Choose per site
Ezoic asks to be the only ad code on the site, so a site runs Ezoic or runs your own direct sales with a network such as AdSense underneath. Below 250,000 monthly users, most sites do not get the choice.
Where Pyrobid fits
Mostly one thing, and then everything that follows from it.
No door policy
No traffic minimum, no application, no queue and nobody reviewing your site. A few thousand readers a month is a real customer here. If your audience is small and specific, that is often exactly why an advertiser wants it.
You keep the whole deal
No revenue share on anything you sell directly, stated permanently on the pricing page. A single direct sponsor at a sensible rate can beat a month of programmatic on a small site.
Nobody can switch your vertical off
Crypto, cannabis and gambling publishers are supported here and we say so out loud. Take payment by bank transfer, invoice, cash or stablecoin and issue a voucher that redeems as ad credit, so no card processor gets a veto on your industry.
Your rates, your rules
You set the floor on every zone and approve every creative before it runs. Nothing serves on your site that you have not seen.
A network underneath, if you want one
Our fallback runs in the page rather than in an iframe, so anything you have not sold directly falls through to AdSense or whichever network you choose. The exception is Ezoic, which asks to be the only ad code on the site.
One price, no tiers to unlock
$29.99 a month to a million impressions, $99.99 to five million. The portal, your branding, the full targeting set are in both.
What your advertisers see
Your brand, on your own domain. They sign up, fund an account and build a campaign in five steps. You approve the artwork before anything runs.

The middle group is the one to read twice. Ezoic is not taking a cut of your direct sales, because direct sales are not something it does.
Your network keeps what you do not sell
Every ad request runs down a chain. Your direct deals get first refusal at your price. Anything unsold falls through to what you run today.
Choose Pyrobid if
- ›You have advertisers who want you specifically, or you could find some
- ›Your audience is small, niche or in a vertical the big platforms avoid
- ›You want to set your own rates and keep the whole invoice
- ›You are under the 250,000 user line and do not want to wait in a queue
Common questions
Can I run both?
Not on the same site, by Ezoic's own rules. Its policy says "You are required to remove all non-Ezoic ad codes from your website", because its optimisation needs exclusive control of the ads. Pyrobid asks for nothing like that: AdSense or another network you choose stays underneath for whatever you have not sold.
My site is too small for Ezoic. Is Pyrobid a replacement?
Yes, and a different kind of one. Below their threshold, Ezoic is a queue. Pyrobid lets you sell to advertisers directly at any size, starting today. If you have five thousand readers in a tight niche, one sponsor at a fair rate can beat programmatic on that traffic.
What does Ezoic actually take?
Not published. Their services pages describe tiers by audience size rather than a percentage. Ours is on the page: $29.99 or $99.99 a month, and no share of anything you sell directly.
Will direct ads hurt my programmatic earnings?
Only in the sense that a sold impression is not available to be sold again. If your direct rate is above what the auction was paying, you are ahead on that impression. Our rate planner starts from what your inventory already earns so you can set a floor that clears it.
Do I need to leave AdSense or Ezoic to try this?
Not AdSense: Google allows other ads on the same page, so start with one placement and leave the rest as it is. There is a longer version of that answer. Ezoic is different: its policy asks you to remove all non-Ezoic ad code, so trying Pyrobid on an Ezoic site means taking Ezoic off it, or trying it on another site.
Is Ezoic a competitor of yours?
Only on the same site, and only because Ezoic asks for exclusive control of the ads. The real choice is whether you want to sell direct at all. Pyrobid is for publishers who do, at any size and with no application.

The 250,000 monthly user minimum, the twenty Incubator places a month and the single application with no reapplication are quoted from Ezoic on their Incubator page, with the tiers from their services page, both checked 16 September 2026. Ezoic publishes no revenue share figure, so that field is marked not published rather than guessed. The rule that sites remove all non-Ezoic ad code is from their publisher policy page, checked 27 September 2026. Pyrobid prices are our own, published at /pricing/.
